Afte...I don't think breathability is a problem. After all, there is a huge opening in the front of the oven. I'd leave out the foil and go with a 6 parts perlite to 1 part Portland cement insulative layer. Make it 4" to 6" thick. Did you have any problems with the clay's...Hi,<br /><br />Did you have any problems with the clay's "breathability"? I have just finished a clay dome and am debating insulating it with vermiculite/clay or vermiculite/cement.
